The Domaine de L'Amaurigue is a superb vineyard property which has outstanding potential in terms of quality. Its 75 acres of vines are situated on a unique perimeter offering a micro-climate to each type of vine, which is highly propitious to its development. But the estate has many other assets:
-
A wine-making facility of impressive technical perfection, with permanent temperature controls in all its various parts: stainless steel vats, concrete, wood etc.
-
Ideal soil, composed of clay and chalk, with a rich mineral content which comes from the omnipresence of pebbles that accumulate heat in daytime and give it to the vine-stocks at night. Thus obliging the roots to take really deep nourishment
-
A variety of vines and the existence of many old ones: grenache, cinsault, syrah, cabernet-sauvignon and carnignan for the reds. Rolle and white ugni for the whites. This variety is soon to be increased.
-
A tailormade grape-harvesting system, depending on the types of vines or localities, with hand-picking or mechanical harvesting depending on the ripeness, type and colour that the owners want to develop, with deep respect for the natural richness of the fruit and its aroma.
-
Finally, these careful and traditional wine-making procedures avoids technical aspects which would take the wines, once ready for consumption, far from their homeland.
